Life as a Mom of 3 Girls

Earth Day Family Fun!!

Earth Day Pancakes

Yesterday, was the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and our family celebrated in style!

Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22nd since 1970. The main focus of Earth Day is to raise awareness on the negative impact human actions have on our environment! It encourages people all around the globe to take action to protect our Earth! My main purpose for Earth Day this year was to celebrate God’s beautiful creation by helping my children develop their own way to care for our Earth!

Exploring our Earth

We spent the morning exploring the beauty of nature by completing a scavenger hunt, which ended with some fun at the playground!

Fun in the sun

Next momma decided to make some yummy Earth Day pancakes!

After lunch we began preparing for our meatless supper of macaroni and cheese. We spent sometime picking up litter around our yard before it was time to go in for the evening.

Bedtime story by candle light

We ended Earth Day with Nanny reading everyone a bedtime story by candle light!

Found Object Art !!!

I love using Found Object Art both in my classroom and at home with my kiddos. I’m currently on maternity leave with our third daughter which gives me tons of time to MAKE and CREATE with my older darlings a preschooler and toddler!!

Yesterday my oldest daughter wanted to go on a nature walk. So I suited up my preschooler, toddler and infant ……off we went collecting found objects in nature! We collected mostly twigs and rocks (making sure to only pick out things that were non-living).

Next, (after the toddler and infant went down for their naps) My preschooler and I started organizing and glueing her Found Objects to a blue piece of card stock. She wanted to hang her new creation on our family WOW WALL ( a description blog …. coming soon).

Finally, after a stroll in nature and two slightly burned momma fingers ….. her finish product !!
